Rent the Runway

So today when I was at work, I finished my articles, so now I am able to write about---well whatever I want...as long as it's bridal...which is super easy for me!

I was looking on my Facebook page today, and I follow Style Me Pretty's site religiously, and they had this gorgeous picture up of some pretty bridesmaids dresses, with the caption "rent the runway!"  So I looked them up.

Style Me Pretty is one of my favorite wedding blogs, and they have plenty of things to look at daily.  They have gorgeous pictures from fabulous weddings, and they post something almost every day... they are incredible! Here is their site... Style Me Pretty's Website

Rent the Runway is a service that provides dress and accessory rentals online.  It is very similar to Bag, Borrow or Steal's concept, the only difference is the type of clothing rental.  Rent the Runway has designer name brands for half the prices to rent, which is great for bridesmaids! They have sizes ranging from 0-14, unfortunately plus sizes are not available :( Here is their website... Rent The Runway's Website.

So here is the amazing bridesmaids dress pictures... I just love the color scheme!!!

Another great way to save money on wedding costs is a site that I have known about for years... I stumbled upon them years ago, and kept it to myself, but I am here now to share with you!  Check out Pre Owned Wedding Dresses website to find gorgeous half price wedding gowns!  This site connects you with former brides that just want to get a little extra cash by selling their wedding gowns.  Some brides don't want to keep their wedding gown forever, so this is the perfect solution.  Their gowns range from 0-30, and they have a range of designers.

The Real Meaning Behind a Wedding

Today, I was looking through Pinterest and well, quite frankly, pinning everything in sight... when I came across a picture with the caption, "showing the meaning of a wedding."  The picture is of a bride and groom sitting down, with the groom kissing his wife's shoulder.  Very sweet shot, you can feel the love from it.

That got me thinking...

You need a spectacular photographer who can tell your story, especially for those who were unable to come to your wedding.

Which brought me to my next point...

When picking your photographer, you have to know what you are looking for.  There are lists of pictures found in popular magazines, and then there are, what I like to call, randoms.  I think this is where Pinterest comes in.  Along with Pinterest, look for weddinggawker.com, a former bride of mine told me about the site, and it is amazing.

So to illustrate the meaning of true love in pictures, please take a look at my friends Meg & Adam, and Anna & Ricky, they were both married on the same day in May, I could only attend one wedding, haven't quite mastered the whole time travel thing yet!

A little about Meg & Adam:  Well, I have known Meg since 4th grade, we go way back.  Meg is one of my best friends, and she has been through a lot through the years.  When Adam came along, well, he's pretty perfect for her, and they are just the perfect couple.  I don't think she could have found anyone more perfect than Adam.  Love you guys!

Known these three girls since the 4th grade, it was so nice to see them again!

Believe it or not, I took this with my phone :D

A little about Ricky & Anna:  When I met Anna,  I was a freshmen in college at JWU.  She was one of my RA's and I totally looked up to her!  Anna has an awesome accent, which I just love!  Anna and Ricky met when she was working for the school, and so was he... he worked as a Safety and Security Officer, and he was also very nice.  They have been together for years now, and I really was beginning to wonder if he was ever going to pop the question, but he finally did, and they got married this past May.  Love you two! Insert cheesy love song here.... haha!

Check out the chandeliers that I found...

How about a lovely fascinator to complete your bridal look on your wedding day?  Fascinators are a well known tradition in England... hope you enjoy...most came from Etsy.com by the way!

Those Swirly Things...

You know when you look at bouquets, and you always see those swirly things in them...well I did a bit of digging... and I FOUND OUT WHAT THEY ARE!!!

The official term for them is called "Araucaria Arancana" or Monkey Tail in the US.   They are found in a tree in southern Chile, western Argentina, and southern Brazil.  They are sometimes known as a living fossil (talk about ironic) and this type of tree is known as the national tree of Chile.

The Monkey Tail is literally a branch found on the tree, but must be conserved because they are considered at Vulnerable status on the conservation status chart.  This means that if not cultivated and preserved, they might die out, and then we won't have them :(

For now, I will leave you with some pretty bouquets with the monkey tails!!!

Lastly... because the Olympics are starting this evening, I must go for now...

GO TEAM USA!!!!

Yes Please!

Today, I worked at the magazine all day, and wrote two articles...YAY, so 14 to go! Woop Woop!

I stumbled upon some gorgeous invitations that I had to write about... They are laser cut invitations, inspired by the designers own wedding announcements.  They are considered Papel Picado which means, perforated paper, and is a gorgeous Mexican form of art.  They are a little on the pricey side, but let's get real, everything I like is pricey! (thanks mom!)

Here is a picture!

Here is the link to see for yourself...and if you do decide to get them, could you just send me a sample!  Please!  Avie Designs: Papel Picado Laser Cut Wedding Invitations

In other news, for those of you who know me, you know I am a huge fan of Tacori.  Today they put this on their Facebook page...which is why the name of the blog is...Yes Please!

Yes. Please.

A Perfect Memory

Okay, second post of the evening...but I HAD TO!  Take a look at Illustrative Moments... just. simply. amazing! (...I'm not going to lie, I really want to change my wallpaper on my computer...)

The Knot: Illustrative Moments

This is the perfect way to capture your wedding dress in another way!  How amazing!

Check out their link!  Illustrative Moments

Inspiration is Everywhere...

So as you know, I have been hard at work, working for Premier Bride Magazine!  I have had NO time to write a little something something for this blog, because I have to get 38 articles done by the end of August!  So far, the count is at 22! I am almost there!! School is starting in about 26 days, not that I'm counting or anything...

I am really enjoying my computer, and getting back into Pinterest...Follow me!!! Look me up! Please send me an email asking for my full name if you don't already know it!  I got some business cards printed, and I am (not so patiently) awaiting their arrival. They are super pretty, and I can't wait to get them!  Hopefully with me passing out my cards, it will generate some more traffic to my blog!!!

Last week, I helped at the photo shoot for the magazine, and it was everything that I had anticipated and more!  You know when you see on tv when you walk into a shoot, and theres music playing, and the model is up there doing their thing... yea, that was my life last week!  It was incredible...AND I got to dress the models, so I got the extra hands on experience...it was SO amazing!!! I will post the link to that here... Photo Shoot Pictures

Next week I will be working at the bridal show, and I am so excited!  I get to direct the fashion show, should be super fun!

Enough about me... I found the most amazing picture of a centerpiece, from Style Me Pretty, FYI you should follow them! They have amazing things on their Facebook pages everyday, as well as Strictly Weddings!

Remember Beauty and the Beast?  Remember the beautiful rose that was under the glass the entire movie? Check this out...This is former American Idol star Lee DeWyze's wedding day, complete with the beauty, and he's...well not really a beast!  Take a look at the gorgeous centerpiece...and I might shoot a link for the entire wedding gallery!

Lets revisit Beauty and the Beast, shall we?

and here is their centerpiece...

Here's the site for you! Lee DeWyze and Jonna Walsh Wedding

Check out their wedding photo gallery, the subtle details that refer to music, including the hand made roses from sheet music, their sheet music program, the vintage dresser filled with memorable items, and not to mention that amazing gown!

Inspiration is EVERYWHERE!

Maybe you see a gorgeous pair of shoes that have light pink baubles on them with brown straps, inspiring a color scheme, or you are in a furniture store, and you see a great pillow that has many different colors, this could inspire your flowers.  See what I mean?  Inspiration is everywhere!

Take a little time, and truly think about what type of wedding that you want as a couple.  Maybe it's a vintage theme, with blooming roses under glass or it could very well be another theme of your choosing, either way, as long as it portrays your own personality, it will always be right for you!
